CHEESE POPOVER PUFFS

1 cup All Purpose Flour

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

1 tablespoon butter, melted

2 eggs

¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese 

 

OVEN 425 DEGREES                                                  6 TO 8 POPOVERS

 

In a small mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, milk, melted butter and eggs. Beat until smooth. Stir in cheese. Pour into well greased popover pan or muffin cups, filling two-thirds full. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake 30 minutes longer until golden brown. Remove from oven and punch a hole in each popover with a sharp knife, twirling the knife to make a ¼ to 3/8 inch hole to allow for escape of steam. Bake 5 minutes longer. Serve immediately.
